Research topics
I miei principali interessi di ricerca riguardano lo studio dei processi di Ossidazione Avanzata con particolare attenzione ai processi fotocatalitici su ossidi semiconduttori. In quest’ambito gli aspetti da me principalmente indagati sono: i) il ruolo esistente tra proprietà superficiale dei fotocatalizzatori e loro attività fotocatalitica; ii) l’effetto che l’accoppiamento di ossidi semiconduttori con strutture carboniose (nanocorni, grafene...) ha sull’efficienza del processo di rimozione fotocatalitica di inquinanti; iii) lo sviluppo di pigmenti semiconduttori a base di ossidi di ferro ed ossido di titanio per la rimozione di inquinanti in fase gassosa; iv) lo sviluppo di metodologie analitiche per la misurazione dell’efficienza fotocatalitica di materiali. Inoltre, mio diretto campo di ricerca è lo studio e la modellizzazione delle reazioni fotochimiche e non nelle acque naturali (specialmente nei laghi) e in atmosfera, con particolare attenzione al ruolo che queste hanno nella trasformazione di inquinanti emergenti. Recentemente la mia attenzione scientifica si è rivolta anche al mondo della produzione di materiali innovativi per batterie litio ione.
